School Events

We would like to say a huge thank you to all parents, and family members, for their fantastic donation of baked goods for our MacMillan Coffee Afternoon last Friday. The response to this event was overwhelming, with generous monetary donations being made in support of this very worthy cause. With thanks to Mrs Dubberley and all Chancel staff for organising and running this event – and extra special thanks to Tesco and Costa Coffee for their donations. In total we raised £380.

Y6 Production – The Lion King

Some photos from our fabulous Year 6 production. What a show it was!!! Well done to all involved.

Chancel Focus Week 21st – 25th June

To celebrate Focus week, the whole school learned about Japanese culture, many activities were based on
the Olympics (which will be hosted by Japan this year). KS1 took part in Japanese dance workshops; all classes
took part in ‘mini-Olympics’; each class made a flag of their class ‘bird’ and its name in Japanese writing.

Pyjama Day

What fun it was to see children and staff coming to school in their pyjamas last Friday. Mrs Dubberley ensured all children took part in a range of wellbeing activities (while in their pyjamas). All of your donations helped us to raise £250 for Book Trust – thank you!

The Big Write…

During April, children in KS1 and KS2 were introduced to The Big Write. The Big Write provides a range of ‘missions’ for pupils to undertake, while enabling them to write in a range of styles, for a range of purposes. We would like to thank Mr Newton for organising this on behalf of our school, great fun was had by all. The Big Write will take place each Wednesday afternoon, as part of our Wellbeing Wednesdays.

Easter Competitions

A huge well done to all of our worthy winners:

World Book Day – Thank You!

We would like to thank all children for taking part in our World Book Day activities – including dressing up when coming into school (and joining our weekly story time via Zoom). All entries to our World Book Day competitions will be judged, and winners announced via our updated Social Networking links, later this week. We would also like to say a huge thank you to Mr Leese and Miss Darnley for organising the Masked Reader, and for all staff who took part. This was amazing and thoroughly enjoyed by all! Did you have a go? How many did you get right? All children should have received their World Book Day Voucher on Monday 8th March.
